Sammakka Jatara gets 100 tents
The tents will be available for RS 2000 on a daily basis and are even available for 12 hours for Rs 1000.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Forest Department has set up 100 forest tents to accommodate the large number of pilgrims who will be coming for Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara. The tents have been put up at a five acre plot near Jampana Bagu at Medaram and each tent can accommodate five people. The tents will be available for RS 2000 on a daily basis and are even available for 12 hours for Rs 1000.
The tourism department has also put up 48 luxury tents alongside a hotel near the Girijan museum on a permanent basis to make Medaram a tourist destination.
Over 1.2 crore visitors are expected this season to visit the festival. Around 500 doctors, 1,000 district officials and 10,000 policemen have been deployed by the state government for the four-day festival.
