The YSR Congress leaders demanded arrest of culprits belonging to upper caste, for allegedly attacking the minorities of Janapadu in Guntur district.

Vijayawada: The YSR Congress alleged that the police were part of a political conspiracy in framing cases against ex-MLA Jogi Ramesh and nine others, charging them with being the cause of one patient’s death as he was forced to wait for the traffic to be streamlined during the YSRC’s rally.

A patient died in an auto while the YSRC cadre had taken out a rally marking their party leader Jagan Mohan Reddy’s milestone of crossing 1,000 km of his padayatra on Monday.

The police said that the son of the deceased called them up and requested them to clear the traffic. However, the auto driver said that traffic jam was not the cause of the death.

The police have filed cases under sections 341, 304A & 143, 149. The police maintained that the son of the deceased had complained to them, in the night, that his father was ill and that the traffic had to be cleared to take him to the hospital.

Later, ACP Satyanarayana, who was in Bhavanipuram, rushed to the spot on instructions from Commissioner of Police Gowtham Sawang. He kept trying to clear the traffic but made way for the auto. However, Ramaiah died.

The police noticed that the auto remained stalled for half-a- hour in the traffic, and in that time, the deceased kept vomitting repeatedly.
