2 fresh cases of nCov in Hyderabad
There have been a total of 11 suspected cases in the city so far.
Hyderabad: Two suspected cases of people who had returned from China were identified in the city on Thursday and sent to the Fever and Gandhi Hospital. They had high temperature and were taken in for evaluation. Their samples were taken and kept in observation.
There have been a total of 11 suspected cases in the city so far. The samples of only two from these were negative, while results of the remaining nine are still awaited from Pune.
With transport of samples taking time, the Telangana government has asked centre to provide them with testing kits. These would be sent by the Centre by tomorrow and a laboratory would be set up in Gandhi Hospital. The tests can then on be conducted in the state itself and results can be evaluated in six hours.
Presently, only two people are admitted in Fever Hospital, while others have been sent home as they did not have any symptoms. They have been asked to not meet anyone and practice self-isolation.
They are being monitored by district medical and health authorities, who are calling them morning and evening to check if they are alright or have some symptoms.
The government has readied 100 beds in the Fever, Gandhi and Chest Hospital for any increase in number of suspected cases.
They have also identified 200 beds in the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, which can be utilized in case of an emergency.
