Madras High Court advocates get awards from President

Former President Pratibha Patil also presented the prestigious award to former Chief Justice of India K.G.Balakrishnan.

Chennai: Advocate G.Mohana Krishnan, President of Madras high court advocates association and advocate V. Kannadasan, former Special public prosecutor for Human Rights cases, were awarded the prestigious National Law day award-2016 by the International Council of Jurists and Indian Council of Jurists at a function held in Mumbai on March 25.

Former President of India, Pratibha Devi Singh Patil presented the award to them at a function organised by International Council of Jurists by its president and senior advocate Adish C.Aggarwala.

While Mohana Krishnan was selected for this award for his contribution to the Bench and Bar relationship, Kanndasan was selected for his life-long unique contribution in the field of Human Rights.

Former President Pratibha Patil also presented the prestigious award to former Chief Justice of India K.G.Balakrishnan and Justices M.Y.Iqbal and Gyan Sudha Misra, former judges of the Supreme Court.
