CBSE question paper leak pops up at Smart India Hackathon
Union HRD min urges youth to take part in govt's missions.
COIMBATORE: The country faces security breech in CBSE question paper distribution across the states, observed Union HRD minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar, while addressing the ‘Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2018’ through video-conference on Friday. He called upon the student-participants to provide effective solutions to this issue.
The ‘2018 edition’ of the event was inaugurated at the Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) premises here with Maya Sreekumar, assistant vice president, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Coimbatore as chief guest. Mrs. S. Malarvizhi, chairperson and managing trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions (SKI) presided over the event. Dr Giridhari Lal Garg, assistant director (RFID), AICTE formally declared the event open at the college premises.
Tamil Nadu has two out of 28 locales at Chennai and Coimbatore where the grand finale is being held on Friday and Saturday. Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore is one of chosen nodal Centre for ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change where 344 students representing 43 teams across India are competing to find solutions to environmental problems and address major real-time problems in these fields.
Inaugurating the event, Mr. Javadekar said, “the Government machinery cannot solve all the problems existing in the country. People’s involvement is necessary and particularly the youth have to take part in the government missions. The students are the best innovators and part of vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s New Digital India.”
Emphasizing on the country’s mobile industry growth, the HRD minister said “I believed that SIH is the beginning for solutions it is an open invitation for innovation.” SIH-2017 brought 27 new innovations and the same were deployed by Government of India. The ministry expects deployment of more than 100 solutions this year.
‘Smart India Hackathon 2018,’ believed the world’s largest 36 hours, nonstop digital programming and digital product building competition involving 1,296 teams from 10,300 engineering colleges at 28 nodal centres is supported by the various ministries.
‘SIH’ that started on Friday across India is an initiative of AICTE and MHRD in association with My Gov, NIC and nodal centre SSCOM.
