29 villages in Kadapa sensitive

Kadapa: Kadapa district police has been concerned with security arrangements for the polls. Police has identified around 27 villages as sensitive and made special arrangements for the areas setting up police pickets.
The Central Election Commission transferred Superintendent of Police Rahuldev Sarma and posted Abhishek Mohanthi in his place. He assumed charge on Friday and held a meeting with officials and cautioned them to ensure peaceful and free election. Special teams have been deployed for vehicular checking and to create awareness among voters from the rural areas. When the election schedule was announced, code of conduct was enforced. Police seized an unauthorised cash of Rs 2,08,24,100 and sarees, gold ornaments etc worth around Rs 1,33,65,642.
Police divided polling stations into two categories labelling them as critical and normal. They identified 27 villages and 474 polling booths are critical that require special security arrangements. They have seized around 200 litres of liquor worth Rs. 82,000 and 1,546 gram silver valued at Rs 42,000. Any violation of election code of conduct would be punishable, the senior police officers cautioned.
Checking of vehicles started from Saturday Candidates from political parties will have to take prior permissions for vehicles to be engaged in election campaign.
The senior police officers stated that, they would be verifying the 2014 elections trouble mongers and they will be bind over. So far, police listed 2,063 cases and bind over 17,230 persons identified.

Night patrolling is also being done by the cops. Jammalamadugu, Kamalapuram, Mydukur and Pulivendula constituencies have been identified as critical. Village visits to be increased and identifies the political leader who are involving in cases relating to law and order, all they must bind over the police said. All the liquor belt shops were closed, and the licenced shops are to be closed 48 hours before polling. Trouble mangers lists are made by police, any persons coming from outsides must be taken in to custody the police said. A senior police officer spoke to the newspaper, they must make all efforts to a peaceful and free Election. He requested the public to support police.
