In tech zone, houses to give way to roads plan in Hyderabad
As per the master plan of Cyberabad Development Authority, a 120-feet road will be constructed from Nasr School Junction to Kasa Bhavan.
Hyderabad: Officials have stopped giving building approvals at Gachibowli in the IT corridor as they survey the area for the Strategic Road Development Plan.
A team under the supervision of assistant city planner, Serilingampally circle-II, N. Krishna Mohan, has started the survey to build new radial roads and widening 40-feet roads to 120-feet.
As per the master plan of Cyberabad Development Authority, a 120-feet road will be constructed from Nasr School Junction to Kasa Bhavan near HP Gas godown through New PJR Nagar.
The road would be widened from Ramky Towers to the under-construction Asian Gastroenterology Hospital from 40 feet to 120 feet. Mr Shaik Hussain, a retired employee, said that he had purchased 200 sq. yd at PJR Nagar with his retirement benefits. “I was shocked when I went to the municipal office to apply for a building permission. They said my land was under the master plan,” he said.
Mr G. Shankar Rao, another applicant, said that he had obtained approval for the construction of a house from the GHMC but was in a dilemma. “As per the rulebook, I have six months to start construction after obtaining approval. Now officials are saying my land is under the master plan. If they knew about it for months, why did they give the approval,” he asked.
Nearly 10 apartments and independent houses from Nasr School Junc-tion up to Kasa Bhavan will be demolished if the government implements the master plan. About 15 apartments and many independent houses will be demolished in PJR Nagar and Gulshan Colony due to road-widening from Ramky Towers to Petrol Bunk.
Mr Krishna Mohan, “We are holding preliminary surveys. We’ll submit a report to the government along with details of existing structures. The government will give compensation if properties are acquired,” he said.
