The woman was found at Puthu Chathiram bus stand premises in Namakkal 10 days ago and she gave birth to a male baby in the premises. She was rescued by local residents and sent to Namakkal government hospital. She gained good health following treatment at hospital.

Namakkal: An abandoned woman, hearing and speech impaired, gave birth to a baby at Namakkal bus stand and was rescued with effort of district administration.

The woman was found at Puthu Chathiram bus stand premises in Namakkal 10 days ago and she gave birth to a male baby in the premises. She was rescued by local residents and sent to Namakkal government hospital. She gained good health following treatment at hospital.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, district collector M Asia Mariyam visited her and ordered for providing required rehabilitation measures for her. Officials provided required goods including bed sheets and towels.

Following effort by officials, she was sent to a government aided special home ‘Anaikkum Karangal’ at Rasipuram along with her baby. The woman could not provide adequate details about her relatives, since she didn’t know to write.

The woman is unmarried and police launched investigation to find her relatives. Officials promised help and care for mother and child and for their rehabilitation.
