Bengaluru: The counting of votes in the Rajarajeshwarinagar (R.R. Nagar) assembly constituency will take place on Thursday and it will decide the fate of 14 candidates in fray. The election to the constituency was put off by the Election Commission of India (ECI) after over 9,000 voter identity cards were found stocked in an apartment in Jalahalli, just days ahead of the assembly elections on May 12. Sitting MLA Muniratna of Congress party was named an accused in the case and the elections were postponed to May 28.
BJP and JD(S) have fielded Vokkaliga candidates Tulasi Muniraju Gowda and A.H. Ramachandra Gowda respectively, while Munirathna, who belongs to Naidu community, is trying his luck for the second time.
