13,000 companies in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh to face probe

And over 13,000 companies in the two Telugu states are under scrutiny

The RoC has cancelled the licences of over four lakh shell companies across the country in two years. The RoC Hyderabad chapter, has 1,27,400 companies across Telangana and AP.

Hyderabad: The site inspection drive taken by the Registrar of Companies (RoC) has uncovered thousands of companies in TS and AP that do not comply with the Companies Act.

In TS alone, the GST commissionerate has identified and served notices to over 30,000 assessees for non-compliance of norms. RoC-Hyderabad chapter has served notices to companies with no business activity, for not filing annual reports, common address, etc, and over 13,000 companies in the two Telugu states are under scrutiny, said RoC-Hyderabad Ramesh Chandra Mishra.

“We have struck off 15,659 companies for non-compliance of norms so far this year. About 13,000 companies are under scrutiny and we will scrap these firms also based on the outcome,” Mr Mishra told this newspaper. He said the RoC-Hyderabad had terminated 20,082 companies in 2017.
