Kejriwal sacks AAP minister caught in 'compromising position' with women
The decision to sack the minister was taken at a high-level meeting attended by top AAP leaders.
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday sacked Delhi Social Justice and Child Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar after the CM received an ‘objectionable CD’ of the minister.
A CD submitted to Kejriwal purportedly showed the minister in a compromising position with two women and some objectionable photographs.
The decision to sack the minister was taken at a high-level meeting attended by top AAP leaders.
Kumar represents Sultanpur Majra constituency. He is the second AAP minister to be sacked after Asim Ahmed Khan who was Minister for Food and Supplies.
Kejriwal and Kumar have had some friction earlier too. Last month, Kejriwal forced Kumar to abort a poorly conceived scheme to remove beggars from Delhi's roads, by moving them to a state-run home. Social activists had strongly opposed the move.
Ridiculing Kejriwal's move to sack Sandeep Kumar, former AAP leader Prashant Bhushan said, "Wah AK Saheb, you appoint degree forgers, bribe takers as ministers and then take credit for removing them when caught!"
