Central warehouses in state to be on e-NAM platform
It is to promote uniformity in agriculture marketing by streamlining procedures across the integrated markets.
KADAPA: Andhra Pradesh government has taken a revolutionary step for the benefit of farmers in the state. The government issued orders to bring the Central warehouses in the state under electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) platform. This will benefit the farmers in the state for getting a better price for their products.
Currently, they are bringing their products that are kept in the Central warehouse godowns to the nearest agriculture market committees- e-NAM platforms.
The farmers have to pay the transport charges from the Central warehouse godowns to Market Committees. With the new system, they will get the transport charges.
National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) is a pan-India electronic trading portal that networks the existing Agriculture Produce Market Committees to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities.
Small Farmers’ Agribusiness Consortium is the lead agency for implementing e-NAM, under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India.

Integration of APMCs across the country, through a common online market platform, will facilitate pan-India trade in agriculture commodities, providing better price discovery through transparent auction process based on quality of produce along with timely online payment. Presently this system is being implemented in the Market Committee godowns only.
According to the new orders, the Marketing Department will arrange e-NAM platforms at the Central warehouse godown also.
Speaking to this correspondent, Joint Director of Marketing, Kadapa region, Puthalapattu Sudhakar said that they are under taking six Central warehouse godowns under e-NAM platforms, which are in Kadapa, Ananthapuram, Adoni, Nadikotkur, Nandyala and Tirupati.
Grade-1 Secretary of KAM Committee K. Kalpana said they are taking steps to arrange e-NAM platforms in the Central warehouse godowns.
