Hyderabad: CBI checks graft-prone units
The special drive was conducted at places where common citizens or businessmen feel the maximum pinch of corruption in the government machinery.
Hyderabad: In order to check corruption in top government departments, the CBI conducted 150 surprise checks across the country on Friday. Of them, seven were conducted in Hyderabad. The checks were undertaken in association with the vigilance officers of the government departments, ministries and organisations concerned.
The special drive was conducted at places where common citizens or businessmen feel the maximum pinch of corruption in the government machinery. “This special drive will sensitise all stakeholders about possible avenues of corruption a common citizen faces while seeking services from such departments. It also strives to identify and highlight points and placed vulnerable to corruption,” a CBI official said.
Near simultaneous checks were conducted across Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Karimnagar, Hanamkonda, New Delhi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Srin-agar, Shillong, Chandigarh, Patna, Ranchi, Ghaziabad, Dehradun, Lucknw and Bhopal.
