Australia made plane was bought for Rs 5 crore

The Diamond DA42, twin-engine aircraft that can seat four persons, is manufactured by the Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Industries.

The aeroplane whose door fell on a house in Lalaguda was purchased by the TS Aviation Academy about 18 months ago for Rs 5 crore. The Diamond DA42, twin-engine aircraft that can seat four persons, is manufactured by the Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Industries.  Speaking to this newspaper, academy principal Dr Chandrashekar Rao said it was returning from a routine training flight with an instructor and a trainee when the door fell off. 

Dr Rao said an inquiry had begun which would reveal the reason for the incident. Teams from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India and Air Safety Authority visited the spot and collected details and would submit a report.
