Yogi government to introduce NCERT books in Uttar Pradesh madrasas
According to the proposal, mathematics and science will be included in the syllabus.
Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to include books by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in the syllabus of madrasas in the state.
The UP Board of Madrasa Education has been asked to include the NCERT books in the syllabus. UP deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma told reporters that the Madrasa Board has started preparations to include the prescribed NCERT text in the curriculum. According to the proposal, mathematics and science will be included in the syllabus.
The state government’s move is an attempt to bring the madrasas, which usually prescribe their own syllabus to students, at par with public and private schools in Uttar Pradesh.
The state government had also earlier asked all madrasas to hoist the National Flag and sing the National Anthem as part of Independence Day celebrations.
