Hyderabad: Congress leader Sravan Dasoju on Tuesday criticised the poll panel for denying election duty to AP police. He said Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar is implementing the orders of caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

In a statement, Mr Sravan Dasoju said, “The family of KCR does not want AP police for election duty but they want their votes. The decision taken by the EC is nothing but an insult to AP police. The EC should remember that Hyderabad is a common capital for both AP and Telangana.”

He added, “The TRS has complained about some police personnel of AP. We will welcome an inquiry into it. But, it is a shame that the entire AP police will be kept away from the elections. The KCR family fears defeat after seeing the response from the public for the Mahakutami.”
