Kashmiri Cheetah' hacks MT Vasudevan Nair website
The group allegedly hacked website of Thiruvananthapuram airport.
Kozhikode: A few days after his criticism of demonetisation and its backlash from the BJP, Jnanpith laureate M.T Vasudevan Nair’s website was found hacked on Friday. The site http://mtvasudevannair.com was found hacked by a group claiming to be ‘Kashmiri Cheetah’ and had posted on the homepage announcing it.
The same group had claimed responsibility for the hacking of the website of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport the other day. The hackers ‘signature’ is the same on both websites. Words like ‘We are unbeatable’, ‘Mess with the best’ are on display.
According to sources, MT’s website was not an active one. “It was launched by a well-wisher a few years ago with the consent of MT. It remained inactive and later another person renewed the license and uploaded a few scripts penned by the writer,” said the source.
Meanwhile, cyber police said that they had not received any complaint regarding the hacking.
MT’s criticism on demonetization had invited the wrath of the BJP and its leader A.N Radhakrishnan flayed the writer saying that he resorted to a studied silence during the murder of T.P Chandrasekharan, allegedly at the behest of the CPM. Several cultural and political leaders came out in support of MT defending his right to freedom of expression.
