Kedrapara, (Odisha): Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday castigated the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha, saying it had failed to create employment for the youths the state and said the BJP would give employment to at least one lakh youth after coming to power in the state.

“The present Odisha government headed by Naveen Patnaik has failed to create employment for the youths. Lakhs of government posts are lying vacant. Once we come to power here in the state, we will give employment to at least one lakh youth in the first year. And in the subsequent years, we would generate employment opportunities for 2.5 lakh more youths,” he said.

Stating that Odisha was a unique state in the country because of its abundant natural resources, the Assam CM said if the state government gets good government; it can be developed into the numero uno province in the country.

“The youths from Odisha are migrating out of the state in search of jobs. When I visit Surat, I find most of the youths are from Odisha. Odia youths have no work and no government jobs. They get no employment in the industrial units in the state. Even mineral resources from Odisha are being shifted to other states,” he observed.

Training his guns on BJD leader V Karthikeyan Pandian, the Assam CM said, "He is claiming to have introduced 5T (Team work, Technology, Transparency, Transformation and Time limit), Sarma sarcastically said one of the Ts stood for teamwork between V Karthikeyan Pandian and his wife.

“Is there any teamwork in Odisha? Do the ministers and MPs have any power here? The only teamwork here is between Pandian and his wife. There is no teamwork. Only two people – Pandian and his wife – enjoy power. The T here stands for Tamil Nadu.”

He appealed to youths saying, “Collect Rs 1 each as a donation to buy a ticket for Pandian to send him to Tamil Nadu. Pandian has held Naveen Babu hostage. Why is he holding the mic for Naveen Babu? He is making Naveen Babu dance to his tunes.”

On the disappearance of Lord Jagannath's Ratna Bhandar keys, Sarma said the report of the inquiry commission on the matter was suppressed.

"I believe that Pandian has been hiding the Ratna Bhandar key. The BJP will trace the keys even if they are concealed by Pandian in the nether world,” Sarma added.

Sounding a note of caution, Sarma said, "The Ratna Bhandar key should be submitted to the High Court of Orissa before June 4, or else we will settle your accounts.”
