Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday declared to launch a mega tree plantation campaign in the state on July six.

The campaign christened as ‘a tree after name of mother’ envisages plantation of five crore trees in Madhya Pradesh in a day, Mr Yadav said after listening to the 111st episode of ‘Maan ki baat’, hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Fifty one lakh saplings will alone be planted in Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

Twelve lakh trees are going to be planted in Bhopal district in one day on July six.

The places for plantation of trees in Bhopal and Indore have already been identified.

The chief minister switched on the radio to listen to ‘Maan ki baat’ after planting a tree.

The programme to plant 51 lakh trees in Indore is the brainchild of state urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya.

Madhya Pradesh had witnessed the mega event of six crore tree plantation in the state in a day four years ago.
