Chennai: An exclusive website for the ‘Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference,’ to be organized at Palani in Dindigul district on August 24 and 25, was launched by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR & CE) department with several prominent religious and spiritual leaders taking part in the event.

The decision to hold the conference to bring devotees of the Tamil god, Murugan, together and also provide a platform for spiritual leaders, speakers, researchers and academics to proclaim the greatness of Lord Murugan to the world was taken at an advisory meeting of the HR & CE department, presided by Chief Minister M K Stalin, on February 27.

The holy town of Palani in Dindigul district, which is one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan was chosen as the venue for the global event in which devotees of Murugan, spiritual leaders and academics, are expected to converge in thousands of numbers.

Besides religious discourses, presentation of research papers on Lord Murugan and an exhibition depicting the grandeur of the six sacred abodes of the God in Tamil Nadu will be among the various features of the conference, an official press release said on Tuesday.

Besides registering on the website for participating in the event, those wishing to present papers can also log on to https://muthamizhmuruganmaanadu2024.com. Last date for submission of research papers is June 20 and the deadline for registration is July 15, the press release said.
