CM: Numaish Became City's Icon
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the All India Industrial Exhibition, popularly known as numaish, has become a part of Hyderabad's identity that is as symbolic as are Charminar and Tank Bund.
He was speaking after inaugurating the exhibition, which runs up to February 15, here on Monday. He hailed the diligence of the Exhibition Society, which has been organising numaish with such relentlessness that its popularity has been soaring every year.
Reddy assured all support to the society from the state towards enhancing the brand image of numaish. He said the state government would play a proactive role in resolving the challenges faced by the society for conducting the annual feature.
He said they will extend full cooperation to upgrade Kamala Nehru polytechnic college, owned by the society, as an engineering college, apart from supporting the several educational institutions the society runs.
Assuring all measures to boost Brand Hyderabad, he said that the state government will encourage women entrepreneurs while appreciating several artefacts created by women at the exhibition, which this year has over 2,000 stalls.
The exhibition will be open from 4 pm to 10.30pm on weekdays and from 4 pm to 11pm on weekends. The organisers are hopeful of an overall footfall of 25 lakh visitors. The two days reserved for women and children are on January 9 and 31.
