Ramesh Chennithala moves Kerala High Court against Shanker Reddy

Kochi: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala on Tuesday moved the Kerala High Court against the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court order to conduct a probe against him on the appointment of Mr Shanker Reddy as Vigilance director. Mr Chennithala argued that Paichira Navaz had moved the court against him at the instance of some interested IPS/IAS officers. Mr Ramesh submitted through former director-general of prosecution T. Asaf Ali that the allegations made in the complaint were totally false.
“Even if the allegations are taken at their face value, the facts alleged in the complaint do not constitute any cognizable offence warranting any preliminary inquiry,” he said. The complainant has no public interest and he is known to be a person of criminal background. He is in partnership with some higher-ups and filing innumerable complaints against top bureaucrats, police officials and politicians. He has filed 40 petitions after the present VACB director took charge, Mr Ramesh said.
