Hyderabad: Nearly 250 students from Sri Vasavi College at Vanasthalipuram will be missing out on the intermedidate exams that are set to start from Wednesday. Students and parents staged a protest at the college and later, organised a stir outside the Intermediate Board - seeking hall-tickets. But all efforts failed. The college’s management did not turn up at the scene of the protests.

According to exams controller M.J. Susheel Kumar, the college’s management had not paid ex-am fees at all, which is why the students were unable to procure hall-tickets. “The college’s management changed hands last year and the new management neither got the NoC nor paid the exam fees for students. A fee without fine had to be paid in September. The college’s owner appro-ached court in February seeking exemption but the court dismissed his petition. We told him on Tuesday to pay Rs 5,000 fine per student as per rules to get the hall tickets but he maintained he was able to pay only Rs 500 or less,” Mr Kumar said.

Later in the evening on Tuesday, students and parents staged a protest in front of Intermediate Board. The Board Secr-etary A. Ashok held discussions with the parents and told them that he was unable to give hall-tickets at this juncture due to the Court ruling.
