Kerala medical entrance results today
NEET will not be applicable to MBBS and BDS admissions for the entire country this year.
Thiruvananthapuram: The state medical entrance results will be announced on Wednesday as the confusion over National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) has been resolved. The admission to medical and dental colleges in the state will be on the basis of the state entrance list and not on the basis of NEET.
Education Minister C. Raveendranath will release the results at PR chamber here at 12.30 p.m. The rank list will be available on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in. The uncertainty on the medical admissions came to an end with the central government issuing an ordinance to the effect that states which conducted their own entrance examinations can admit students based on their own entrance tests.
NEET will not be applicable to MBBS and BDS admissions for the entire country this year. The decision to publish the results was taken by the state government after the copy of the latest ordinance was received by the commissioner for entrance examinations.
The central government came up with the ordinance after stiff opposition from several states over making NEET the sole examination for admission to medical colleges in the country. In April, the Supreme Court had turned down the appeals by many states, including Kerala which wanted to hold separate examinations.
