Kozhikode Police has launched Operation Rainbow' to ensure smooth traffic control

The school managers who are operating buses are strictly instructed to run them as per the norms and conditions.

Kozhikode:  The City Police has launched ‘Operation Rainbow’ for smooth and fair traffic control in connection with the opening of educational institutions. All the transport buses including city and line buses running through Kozhikode city will be checked as part of the project. Those checked will be pasted with stickers to avoid repetition.

The school managers who are operating buses are strictly instructed to run them as per the norms and conditions. The school buses should have drivers with 10-year experience and helpers at both doors. The project is implementing with the help of motor vehicle department, said ADGP (North) Nitin Agrawal. The police has already conducted fitness tests for the school buses last week with the support of the MVD.

The police has also pasted stickers of WhatsApp number of police officials in bus stands, on buses and autos so that the public can inform any indecent behaviour or offences against the students by the private bus crew. Police will check wiper function, tyre condition, lights, brake lights, reflectors and indicators, roof, windows, seats and working of brakes during the check up.
