Kishan Reddy invited to speak at UN event on tourism and SDGs

HYDERABAD: A United Nations forum has invited Union tourism minister G. Kishan Reddy to speak on global tourism and its linkages to sustainable development goals (SDGs). The event, being organised by the UN World Tourism Organisation will be held at New York between July 10 and 14.

Kishan Reddy will be focusing on the decisions discussed at the G-20 tourism ministers meeting at Goa, and implementation of the ‘India Declaration’ and the 'Goa Road Map' aimed at achieving sustainable development goals and deepening partnerships and collaborations among countries and stakeholders, at the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF).

The HLPF is the central platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and SDGs at the global level, a statement from Kishan Reddy’s office said. The HPLF was the apex of the architecture for the purpose,  established by the UN General Assembly Resolution 70/299.
