CM Jagan Opens Rs 130 Cr Worth Projects In AU

VISHAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated five development projects of Andhra University here on Tuesday.

The projects include Element, A Hub, Algorithm, AU-SIB, AU-Avanti Aquaculture Innovation and Skill Hub. Element is Andhra University Pharma Incubation and Biological Monitoring hub while A Hub is Andhra University Start-up and Technology Incubation hub having 121 start-ups.

Algorithm is the Andhra University Digital Zone and Smart Classrooms Complex built at a cost of Rs 35 crore. AU-SIB is Andhra University School of International Business which was developed at a cost Rs 18 crore under an MoU with IIM Visakhapatnam.

AU-Avanti Aquaculture Innovation and skill hub, built with an outlay of Rs 11 crore, signed an MoU with Avanthi Foundation to offer skill training and entrepreneurship in marine farming, processing and packaging.

Andhra University has developed 18 projects during the last three years, of which the CM inaugurated five.

AU vice-chancellor Prof. P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy, education minister Botsa Satyanarayana, regional coordinator for YSRC Y.S. Subba Reddy and district incharge minister Vidadala Rajani were present.

The Chief Minister later set the stone for projects worth Rs 134.58  crore. These include works under AMRUT worth Rs 107.42 crore, seven works under Smart City projects worth Rs 16.10 crore and eight works under 15 finance commission worth Rs 11.06 crore. In all, the chief minister set the stone for 47 works worth Rs 134.58 crore.
