GVL secures railway ministry\'s agreement to hold train safety review in EC Rly Zone

Visakhapatnam: BJP MP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao met with Railway Board chairperson Jaya Varma Sinha in Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the Kothavalasa train accident and demand a thorough probe. Rao also called for a detailed review of train safety in the East Coast Railway Zone, which has seen two major accidents in the last five months.

Rao said in a statement, "Continuing my efforts towards improving train safety in East Coast Railway Zone, I met railway board chairperson Jaya Varma Sinha in Delhi and requested her for a thorough inquiry into the train accident near Kothavalasa. I also demanded a detailed review of train safety in the East Coast Railway Zone."

Sinha agreed to Rao's demands, and a train safety review in the East Coast Railway Zone is now underway.
