Lok Sabha Polls will be Rahul Vs Modi, says Bandi Sanjay
Hyderabad: Karimnagar MP and BJP national general secretary Bandi Sanjay said the parliament polls pit Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party will highlight this. “A vote for the BRS is mere waste,” he said.
Addressing the mandal presidents and in-charges in Karimnagar, he said, “The BJP will bag eight to 12 MP seats in Telangana. There is a wave towards the BJP and we will get 350 seats on our own and the NDA will get more than 400 seats. The BRS will fall to the third position and any vote for it will go down the drain as it neither has power at the state nor at the Centre. It cannot lobby and get additional funds from the Centre. The BJP candidates have to convey this to the public. The main contest will be between the BJP and the Congress only.”
He said the dismal economic situation in Telangana state will not allow the government to keep their electoral promises and cannot even pay the salaries of employees. As the ministers are also giving promises it is creating new problems for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy who lost his smile. “The BJP cadre should take to the people the need to vote for the BJP,” he said.
Enthusing the cadre for the polls, Bandi Sanjay asked them to work with renewed strength and reminded them that the party had won despite not having as many cadres as it has today. “As the MP polls will have a bearing on local polls ahead, the cadre should work hard and those who do so will get tickets in the local body polls. They can contest as sarpanches, MPTCs, ZPTCs, councillors and corporators. Those who cause loss to the party will not be spared and the high command will take care of them,” he said.
Dr Manohar Reddy, state vice-president, reminded the cadre that Sanjay Kumar stands the chance of becoming a Central minister if he wins. The Congress is not in a position to decide its candidate. Sanjay Kumar played a prominent role in fighting against the K. Chandrashekar Rao government, he said.
“BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao spent hundreds of crores to defeat Sanjay Kumar,” said C.H. Vittal, party spokesperson and added conspiracies are being hatched to defeat him again.
