Tirumala Gets Rs.40 Crore Vaikunta Ekadasi Hundi Collection

As per statistics, over 2.62 crore devotees had darshan of Lord Venkateswara last year.

Tirupati: Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala received ₹40.20 crore in hundi collections during the 10-day Vaikunta Ekadasi festivities, which concluded on Monday. This is ₹80 lakh higher compared to last year's Vaikunta Ekadasi hundi collection of ₹39.4 crore.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy said on Tuesday that the number of devotees visiting the temple also saw a marginal increase, with about 6.47 lakh devotees having darshan during this year's Vaikunta Ekadasi compared to 6.09 lakh last year.

The EO appreciated TTD’s recently adopted slot token system to regulate crowds, He pointed out that because of this, most devotees could complete darshan formalities within two hours during the heavily crowded festival period. He said more devotees than usual had anna prasadams during the 10-day period.

Significantly, Tirumala temple has seen consistent hundi collections in 2023. Hundi donations made by devotees crossed ₹1,398 crore. He pointed out that hundi collection has crossed the ₹100 crore mark for 22 straight months, the highest being ₹129 crore in July ad lowest ₹108 crore in November.

As per statistics, over 2.62 crore devotees had darshan of Lord Venkateswara last year.
