Musaddilal case: ED challenges orders of single judge

HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate filed an appeal challenging the single judge orders on January 11 , directing it to release the confiscated gold and jewelry worth over Rs 53.98 crore and Rs 1.75 crore cash, from Musaddilal Gems and Jewels (India) Private Limited after conducting searches on the residences of its directors related to money laundering allegations against Sukesh Gupta.
The ED had seized the said properties and cash after conducting searches on October 17 last year.
Challenging the single judge orders, ED filed an appeal, which was heard by the division bench, comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji. They adjourned the case to February 20 for hearing.
