Move to destroy Idukki district: Joyce George

Kottayam: Idukki MP Joyce George has alleged that there was a concerted move from certain quarters  to destroy   Idukki district with the help of certain officials. The report of the Land Revenue Commissioner was against facts, he told reporters at Munnar.   “The attempt  to portray me as an encroacher will be in vain. Some officials in the district are preparing the reports as per their whims. The allegations of encroachments against me and Devikulam MLA S. Rajendran  are  baseless,” Mr Joyce said. He  denied the report that the land at Kottakamboor in the district meant for the backward communities was encroached  by him. “The land was  bequeathed to me by my father. I will stand by the people of Idukki,” he  said.
