Fervour marks Ugadi celebrations at Tirumala

Nellore: Subhakrutnama Ugadi Asthanam was held with religious fervour at the Tirumala temple on Saturday.
The Asthanam was held in Bangaru Vakili wherein the processional deities of Srivaru and His consorts along with Visvaksena was seated facing Garudalwar.
New vastrams were offered to all the deities on the auspicious occasion. Later, the Panchanga Shravanam was carried out in presence of deities. Afterwards, the traditional Rupai Harati was offered and Naivedyam was distributed.
The festivities were observed with gaiety and enthusiasm jointly by the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat and the welfare wings of TTD in Mahati auditorium at Tirupati on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, TTD JEO Veerabrahmam said like in the name ‘Subhkruthnama Ugadi’ let everything go in a hassle-free manner in this auspicious year with the blessings of Sri Padmavathi Srinivasa.
TTD Agama Advisor Dr Vedantam Vishnubhattacharya rendered Panchanga Shravanam giving the celestial equations and incidence probabilities across the nation as well in the world in Subhakrutnama Samvatsara.
A fancy dress competition on mythological and traditional characters, quiz and poetry contest for the kids of employees was also organised and prizes were distributed to the winners.
At Tirumala, TTD Board chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy, additional EO A.V. Dharma Reddy, CVSO Gopinath Jatti, JEO (H&E) Sada Bhargavi, temple deputy EO Ramesh Babu, Peishkar Srihari, VGO Bali Reddy took part in the celebrations. AP minister Perni Nani, TTD board members Sriramulu, Maruti Prasad, Nanda Kumar, Krishna Rao were also present.
