Boys bag top ranks in Kerala medical entrance test

Majority of women aspirants clear entrance examination.

Thiruvananthapuram: Boys outshone girls by winning seven out of the top ten ranks in the state medical entrance examinations conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

V.V. Muhammed Munavvir of Kannur bagged the first rank. B. Lekshin Dev, a  Malayali student based in Adayar, Chennai, was ranked second, while Benson Jake Eldo of Ernakulam and M.C. Remeesa Jahan of Malappuram bagged the third and fourth ranks respectively.

Education Minister C. Raveendranath released the rank list by handing over a copy to health minister K.K. Shylaja at a function held at PR chamber on Wednesday.

Kevin Joy Pullukkara of Thrissur, Ajay S. Nair of Ernakulam, K. Asif Aban  of Malappuram, K. Harikrishnan  of Kozhikode, Aleena Augustine of Kottayam and A. Nihala  of Malappuram were ranked fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth respectively.

In the SC category, Bibin G. Raj of Thiruvananthapuram and Aravind Rajan of Thrissur bagged the first and second ranks respectively.

In the ST category, the first rank is kept on hold for verification while V. Meghana  of Kasargod bagged the second rank. Out of the total  1, 16,477 students who appeared for the exams, 1, 04,787  qualified. They included 31,583 boys and 73,204 girls. The rank list is available on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in
