Star power' for Telangana's green drive

Hyderabad: To encourage public participation in the Haritha Haaram, the TS government will supply saplings ‘matching’ the recipient’s ‘janma nakshatra’ and zodiac sign.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is scheduled to launch the second phase of the programme on June 8, aimed at planting 46 crore saplings spanning over two weeks to improve the green cover across the state.

Mr Rao reviewed the arrangements for the plantation drive with senior officials at the Secretariat on Friday. The CM wants 25 lakh saplings to be planted in GHMC limits alone on a single day on July 11.
