Palakkad: Thrithala MLA V.T. Balram is pinning his hopes on the upcoming state budget for implementing the mega developmental projects in his segment. The Green MLA, who withstood the strong political undercurrents  against the UDF during the Assembly elections through his novel developmental activities, told DC that he was hopeful  that the LDF government would allocate funds for the big infrastructural and developmental projects in Thrithala which were sanctioned after regular follow-up during the UDF regime.

“The bridge-cum-regulator at Kangappuzha will cost nearly Rs 80 crore  for which DPR was sanctioned after the previous government allotted Rs 1 crore for preparatory works. Besides, the district flagship road project of building a highway from Kuttippuram in Malappuram through Thrithala, Pattambi and Shornur contouring Bharathapuzha  river was announced during the mass contact programme in Palakkad by former chief minister Oommen Chandy,” Mr Balram said. For all these projects, the assistance of the state government was needed as huge funds were necessary for  completing them.
