TTD gears up for Salakatla Brahmotsavams
A heavy pilgrim rush is being anticipated as the Vahana sevas this year are to be observed in four Mada streets after two years gap
Nellore: TTD is gearing up to conduct Salakatla Brahmotsavam in a grand manner from September 27 to October 5 in Tirumala. The annual event was held in ‘Ekanatham’ in view of Covid during the last two years. EO A.V. Dharma Reddy reviewed the arrangements for the mega event with the officials of TTD on Friday.
Dharma Reddy said a heavy pilgrim rush is being anticipated as the Vahana sevas this year are to be observed in four Mada streets after two years gap due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing media after a preliminary review meeting with TTD senior officers at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, he said the first review meeting on Brahmotsavam was held and discussed the arrangements to be made keeping in view the huge pilgrim turn out likely this year.
He said that the important days includes Dhwajarohanam on September 27, Garuda seva on October 1, Bangaru Ratham on October 2, Maharatham on October 3, and Chakrasnanam on October 4.
He said that as the Garuda Seva is also coinciding with Saturday of Peratasi month (as per the Tamil calendar), the pilgrim rush is likely to be more.
The EO said the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh will present the Pattu Vastram on behalf of the AP government on September 27.
All privileged darshan for handicapped and senior citizens cancelled during the period of Brahmotsavam while VIP darshan recommendation letters also remain cancelled.
Earlier, heads of various departments reviewed department-wise activities to be executed as part of the preparation to the Brahmotsavam.
JEOs Sada Bhargavi, Veerabrahmam, CVSO Narasimha Kishore, FACAO Balaji, CE Nageswara Rao, SE2 Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Temple Dy EO Ramesh Babu and other officers were present.
