Kerala High Court seeks Centre report on T P Senkumar: Kerala Administrative Tribunal

The court was considering a plea seeking a directive to the state government to approve the names of the two.

Kochi: Kerala high court on Tuesday directed the Central government to inform the decision taken by the selection committee to recommend the names of former State Police Chief T. P. Senkumar and former Additional Chief Secretary V Somasundaran for the posts of members of the Kerala Administrative Tribunal (KAT) before the Chief Justice of India. The court was considering a plea seeking a directive to the state government to approve the names of the two.

According to the petitioner, despite the recommendation made by the selection committee headed by the High Court Chief Justice, the government had not taken any step on the recommendations. The government had earlier sought to condone the delay in not forwarding the recommendations to the Centre in time. There were some administrative delays at the office, it could not be transmitted to the Centre government, the state had submitted before the high court.
