Kozhikode: Media today highlights comments dressed up as facts, said Governor P. Sathasivam, speaking at P.V. Sami memorial award function here on Thursday. "It is an irrefutable fact that media has freedom to report truth. But does it mean that it is free to conceal or alter basic facts," he asked.
He recalled how a legal correspondent left the Supreme Court hall after getting a slice of judgment which would take minimum two hours to completely deliver in the case of Bomb blasts in Mumbai. “The scribe was in a hurry to give the scroll which was just a part of the verdict,” he said. Governor presented the award to Faizal E. Kottikollon, KEF holdings chairman.
