CM Pinarayi Vijayan: Nokkukooli hits development
As many as 90 UP school students in the locality were given scholarships under SunTec employees' initiative SNEHA.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has warned against the practice of claiming 'nokkukooli' which hinders the development activities in the state. Speaking at the foundation stone laying of the new campus of IT firm SunTec at Technocity near here on Friday, the Chief Minister said the government would extend all support to complete the first-phase of SunTec campus in 18 to 24 months.
Referring to the ‘nokuukooli’ practice that has been hindering many development activities, the Chief Minister said the government would not tolerate any such attempts by any groups to delay development works. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister expressed annoyance over the dragging of the stone-laying ceremony as a student scholarship programme was also held along with it.
He later said during the inaugural address that he had to attend another function soon and hence he was a bit annoyed. As many as 90 UP school students in the locality were given scholarships under SunTec employees' initiative SNEHA. SunTec also distributed 200 Onam kits to the needy families in the locality. In the first-phase, SunTec is constructing 3.1 lakh sq. ft. Software Development Center, which can accommodate 1500 software professionals.
