NELLORE: Five persons ended their lives in two different incidents in Nellore district on Thursday following family disputes.

In the first incident, a 32-year-old woman, along with her two children, committed suicide by hanging from a tree in the premises of their house in Jai Bhim Nagar of Vinjamur town on Thursday.

Circle inspector Sambasiva Rao identified the deceased as Sadham Geetha (32) and her two children Sadham Venkat (10) and Sadham Charisma (6).

Geetha’s husband Venkat was shell shocked when he found his family members hanging from the tree. Venkat is an employee of a gas agency. Police rushed to the spot after he alerted them.

In another case, a 45-year-old person along with his 11-year-old son jumped into an agricultural well at Kothur Ambapuram in Nellore rural mandal, allegedly due to serious differences with his wife.

According to Vedayapalem circle inspector K. Narasimha Rao, Rangaswamy (45) had been very unhappy after his wife left them and started staying separately.

Unable to cope with the situation, Rangaswamy, along with his two sons, went to the agricultural well.

However, one of his sons, Sanjay, escaped at the last minute and alerted local residents about his father jumping into the well with his brother.  Police recovered the bodies with help of swimmers.

In a voice recording, Rangaswamy blamed his brother-in-law, sister-in-law and a teacher working in a private school for taking the extreme step.

Police have shifted the two bodies to Nellore Government General Hospital for post-mortem.
