British diplomat interacts with AP technical education officials
VIJAYAWADA: AP Directorate of Technical Education organised an interactive session on Friday with British deputy high commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen with an objective of collaborating with companies that impart skills in English language to students of polytechnics, ITIs and degree colleges.
Technical education director Chadalavada Nagarani, collegiate education commissioner Pola Bhaskar, employment and training director Dr. B. Navya, and APSCHE chairman Prof. K. Hemachandra Reddy participated in the meeting.
Companies like Pearson, Kortext and Team Cambridge participated in the interactive session. Representatives of these companies presented the services and technologies that they offer, like short-term courses and training, certification in English language for students, and smart teaching and learning platforms for faculty of polytechnics, ITIs and degree colleges.
Nagarani said department of technical education is contemplating to set up English language laboratories in its institutions and offer training programmes in English to students in collaboration with Team Cambridge.
