CM Pinarayi Vijayan wants to strengthen plan evaluation mechanism

He directed the officials to include new projects as it was also the time of the formulation of 13th Five Year Plan.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief  minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday urged department heads to expedite plan implementation task by giving top priority in time bound completion of schemes and projects. The chief minister was presiding over a high level meeting of government secretaries to review plan expenditure on the completion of the first half of current financial year financial year. He directed the officials to include new projects as it was also the time of the formulation of 13th Five Year Plan.

Pinarayi said the plan evaluation system  at the state level had to be strengthened further. Besides evaluation mechanism required to be put in place at the district level as well. Meanwhile, chief minister attended the get-together organised by IAS Officers Association at Golf Club here on Saturday evening. The association said it was post Onam get-together and members were happy that the chief minister had accepted their invitation.

Besides members of the IAS Association, a section of IPS officers also attended the get-together. The get-together had gained significance as it came close on the heels of vigilance deciding to probe corruption charges against association president Tom Jose in connection with KMML. The IAS officers had recently met the chief minister and resented the manner in which vigilance department was hounding them in the name of frivolous and anonymous complaints against public servants. They had expressed doubts that there was a deliberate attempt to target certain officers.
