Subramanian named Cauvery Management Board's Tamil Nadu member

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Government on Saturday proposed the name of R. Subramanian, chairman of the Cauvery Technical Committee (CTC), to represent the state at the proposed Cauvery Management Board.
The state government communicated to the Union water resources ministry in an urgent communication on Saturday that Subramanian, former chief engineer of the public works department, would be the member of the CMB on behalf of Tamil Nadu.
The CTC’s job is to apprise the government and advocates of technical nuances of different dimensions of the dispute. The cell consists of specialists from different disciplines such as groundwater and agriculture. Meanwhile, Puducherry Government has appointed P. Swaminathan, chief engineer, PWD, as the UT’s representative to the CMB.
