Hyderabad: Victim's father blames it on quarry owner

The carelessness of the quarry owners claimed my son's life, he said.

Hyderabad: Degree student Md Aslam, 19, a good swimmer, went to  one of the quarries at Devendranagar to swim along with his cousin, engineering student Md Rahim on October 18.They had gone to the quarry with four friends, who did not know swimming. Aslam entered the lake first. After swimming for some time, he started drowning.

“Rahim who was standing on the bank jumped in to rescue Aslam but he also drowned,” one of their friends said. They called a person who was fishing nearby, and pulled out both the youths.

“We rushed them to hospital but they were already dead,” he said. Aslam was the only son of Yasin, a carpenter in Jeedimetla. “The carelessness of the quarry owners claimed my son's life,” he said.
