VS Achuthanandan seeks CJI T S Thakur intervention on media ban
Mr. Achuthanandan said that despite interventions of the judiciary a section of lawyers were still preventing the entry of journalists to courts.
Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPM leader V.S. Achuthanandan has urged the Supreme Court Chief Justice T S Thakur to take stern actions to lift the ban imposed by a section of lawyers on journalists in courts. Addressing the state assembly in connection with the 60th anniversary of Kerala formation, Mr. Achuthanandan said that despite interventions of the judiciary a section of lawyers were still preventing the entry of journalists to courts.
“It is unfortunate that those who are bound to ensure justice are showing injustice towards the media. If there are some issues between a few MLAs and a few journalists, will there be a total ban on media in reporting Assembly proceedings? The Chief justice and other judicial officers should intervene to solve the issue,” he said.
