Cyberabad CP reviews security at nomination centres
Hyderabad: Cyberabad police commissioner Stephen Raveendra convened a meeting of all DCPs and ACPs to review the security arrangements to be made at centres for the Assembly elections nominations starting from Friday.
He said that the Central Armed Forces and Special Party Forces will be deployed at the nomination centres, and instructed nodal officers to arrange four-layered security system at the centres. He also directed the teams to carry riot gear equipment.
“Effective communication systems and Door Frame Metal Detectors should also be set up at the nomination centres for checking. Prohibitory orders on the assembly of five or more persons in a 100-metre radius at the nomination centres will be in force from November 3 till November 15,” he said.
The traffic wing was instructed to divert traffic in the 100 metres radius at nomination centres, to ensure a smooth and incident free nomination process. He further directed the officials to coordinate with concerned Returning officers regarding permissions issued for Rallies and meetings.
Stephen also instructed to focus on information related storage points of Liquor and Freebies and to prevent in-flow of illegal transportation by the Political Parties for the use in election campaigns. “Any deviations will be viewed seriously and action will be initiated against them,” he said.
