No ‘Sunday Funday’ at Tank Bund on December 5

Hyderabad: Fears over a possible resurgence in Covid-19 cases, and apprehensions about the fast-spreading Omicron variant of coronavirus have led to cancellation of the December 5 ‘Sunday Funday’ at Tank Bund.

Special chief secretary for MAUD Arvind Kumar took to Twitter to declare that “in view of uncertainty on Omicron coronavirus variant and as a matter of abundant precaution, the Sunday Funday event shall not be held this Sunday.”

He, however, said that traffic restrictions will continue at the Tank Bund for pedestrians.

The success of the HMDA initiative that took-off on September 12 inspired a similar event at Charminar on October 17. However, it is held every alternate Sunday.
