Chalapati Rao cremated with State honours

Vishakapatnam: BJP senior leader P.V. Chalapathi Rao, who died of illness on Sunday morning, was cremated with full state honours on Monday evening. A huge funeral procession was taken out from his residence at Pithapuram Colony and taken to Chavulamadham crematorium, where Rao’s final rites were conducted. The procession passed through Dr Krishna College, MVP Double Road, Lawson’s Bay Colony, Dutt Island and RTC Complex.

The cortege was led by BJP state president Somu Veerraju in which Mizoram Governor Dr K. Haribabu, Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, former MLA and BJP state vice-president P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, former president of the united Andhra Pradesh N. Indra Sena Reddy, former Hanamkonda MLA M. Dharma Rao and a large number of local leaders took part.
