Bodies of five reach Amalapuram from US
Kakinada: The dead bodies of five persons reached Amalapuram in Konaseema district from the US, and the last rites were performed at Kotilingala Ghat in Rajamahendravaram on Tuesday. The victims were relatives of YSRC MLA Ponnada Satish. The deceased, Ponnada Nageswara Rao, 68, and his wife Sithamahalakshmi, 65, went to the US from Amalapuram to visit their daughter Naveena, who was living with her family.
Nageswara Rao, Sitha Mahalakshmi, and Naveena’s son Kritik, 11, and her daughter Nishedha, 9, died in a road accident near Texas. Nageswara Rao’s son-in-law was injured and is undergoing treatment in a US hospital. When the bodies reached Amalapuram, grief gripped the area. Transport minister Pinepe Viswaroop, BC welfare minister Ch. Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna, and others paid their respects to the accident victims and consoled MLA Ponnada Satish and other family members. Later, the bodies were taken to Kotilingala Revu in Rajamahendravaram for the last rites.
